For those looking for a cool place to hang out after work in Birmingham City Centre - All Bar One offers a hip and relaxing vibe to wind down.
The chain restaurant and bar has three locations in Birmingham - Brindleyplace, Newhall Street and New Street Station. And, I visited the Newhall Street one - which is closest to the business district on a Tuesday evening.

Being a weeknight, we had the place mostly to ourselves when we landed up there at 7pm. All Bar One, Newhall Street is decorated in modern pieces - some industrial and its decor is as fusion as the food.
As I entered the venue, a long bar awaited me and the further I walked in, I realised how massive the space is. There are comfortable booths and tables, and I found a quiet nook to get comfortable in. We picked the Tapas Tuesdays option and opted for two classic cocktails and four small plates, as well as the trio of fries.
For the food, we picked veggie and meat options like hummus and pitta, crab tacos, crispy potatoes and okra, and Bumbu Bali chicken skewers. The tacos stole the show for me with its fresh taste that felt like spring in my mouth. It’s made with claw meat with avocado, pickled watermelon and micro herbs, and the pickled watermelon is a game-changing addition to the dish.

Fries are an essential part of many British meals, and if you thought you can’t elevate them - All Bar One’s trio of fries is here to take your palate on a spin. They have an extensive drinks list, including some signature cocktails like Espresso and Pornstar Martini.
I opted for the classic French Martini which includes Cîroc pineapple vodka, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice and raspberry dust. The raspberry dust was the icing on the cake that the drink was.
My dining partner picked the Sailor’s swirl - made of Sailor Jerry’s spiced rum, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, fruit blend with passion fruit, ginger syrup, lime & soda - and was instantly in love with the tangy taste of it.
