The landscape of Birmingham is getting bigger with several new skyscrapers due to make an appearance. With an increasing population, many cities are growing vertically rather than horizontally and Brum seems to be going the same way.

Skyscraper plans include the 48-storey Snow Hill Plaza scheme, which was recently approved which will feature more than 400 homes with no car parking - only cycle space. The 49-storey, 155-metre Octagon which began construction in 2022, is another skyscraper that is set to join the tall buildings and structures in the city.

Some of the plans have met with disapproval from locals, with fears they are harming Birmingham’s cultural and architectural heritage like. But while some see the regeneration of the city as disruptive, others welcome the growth.

We took a look at the tallest 17 buildings and structures in Birmingham, and ranked them by height. A skyscraper is usually considered to be at least 100 meters or 150 meters in height, and soon Birmingham will have several. However, so far, there are five buildings that are more than or at least 100m. Though, there are other structures taller than that. Here are 17 of the tallest buildings and structures in Birmingham:
