Animal charity Cats Protection is home to several abandoned and rescued cats in Birmingham. The cats live at their Birmingham Adoption Centre and with foster cat parents across the city.
Many of them were strays or were given up by their former families, who are unable to care for them anymore. However, you can give them a second chance at having a family by taking them home.
Cats are loving creatures and are a great addition to homes. Their way of showing love may be different than that of dogs but when given love and care, cats know how to reciprocate.
They are likely to come to you for snuggles and rubs, or they could be just happy to sit close to you. Kittens may need more attention initially as they have a lot of energy and love to play. With dozens of cats available for adoption, you can find one that suits your personality and lifestyle easily.
If you want to adopt a cat from Cats Protection, you can contact them through their website.
Here are eight cats currently up for adoption in Birmingham:
5. Clayton
Clayton is FIV+ve so will need to be an indoor only cat with lots of environmental enrichment to keep him happy. He is a ginger and white domestic shorthair cat of 6 years of age. | Cats protection

6. Fluffy Boots
Fluffy Boots is a laid back cat who loves to spend her days sitting in her bed. She will need regular grooming, so previous experience would be an advantage. She would suit a home where she can have all the attention that se needs, but can also be left to potter around and sleep in a comfy spot. | cats protection
7. Freyja
Freyja is hoping to find a home where she can be the only pet in the home. She has lived with another cat but they did not like each other so we feel it best that she is on her own. She has not had access to outdoor yet so we are in need of a home where she can have the option. Once settled she will be a loving addition to your home. | Cats Protection
8. Bliss
If you like a chatty cat then Bliss is the one for you. She loves to talk to you when you are around her. She enjoys a brush and a stroke and will tell you in no uncertain terms that she wants you to carry on. She loves nothing more than being carried about and cuddled. | Cats Protection
