It's been quite some time since Snowball drinks were a thing at Christmas.

But All Bar One in Brindleyplace in Birmingham has resurrected the 1970s classic cocktail and brought it bang up to date with the most fabulous ice cream twist.

We tried the retro drink, which is being celebrated as a festive classic, alongside two other cocktails joining it at the bar for Christmas.

It was a real melt in the mouth sensation - kind of a Cosmopolitan, but smoother with a gorgeously milky silk, mellow flavour. A cool sip slithered across my tongue, with a refreshing yet relaxing zing, If you could create the North Pole as a drink - this could be it.

Cool, yet smooth, with the Little Moons Mochi ice cream, it’s  an absolute dream. The chilled coconut gelato, encased in the sweet, soft and chewy rice flour dough really was out of this world. The drink part of this treat consists of Absolut Vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, coconut syrup and lime juice. It’s fabulous treat amid the beautiful, sparkly All Bar One Christmas decorations surrounding you on the edge of our beautiful Brummie waterfront.

Even I’m not old enough to remember what Snowballs tasted like in the 1970s, if they were anywhere as fab as this, I can’t believe they’ve been hidden away for so long.

Next up on the trio of All Bar One tipples was the Boozy Caramel Latte. Well, what can I say - this was like another trip to cocktail heaven. Thnk Baileys with an edge - and ice cream snuggled up in sweet serenity.

The drink is actually created with Havana Especial rum, Tia Maria, salted caramel syrup and oat, topped with the Little Moons Salted Caramel mochi.

It was almost my top favourite, and it’s almost like a meal in itself. It’s a real option if you’re after a dessert with a punch - packed with the spirit of Christmas (do you see what I did there?)!

And so we come to cocktail number three - the Jingle Berry Sour. Alas readers, I did not get around to trying this third liquid sensation - however I was assured by my friends that it too is an absolute dream.

The drink is made up from Absolut Raspberri vodka, Chambord, sugar, lemon and Little Moons’ Very Berry sorbet mochi. It sounds sensational - and gives me the perfect excuse to pop back soon to try it out.

The drinks are being served alongside a delectable range of festive food including the Turkey, Chicken, and Bacon Focaccia and the Festive Brie and Bacon Burger with pickles, cranberry sauce and sides of sage and onion seasoned fries and a pit-in-blanket.

And if you’re not in the mood for booze you can also try the popular All Bar One  range of festive hot drinks  including the Gingerbread Hot Chocolate, Winter Caramel Latte, Honeycomb Cappuccino and Mulled Wine.

It’s no wonder the bar has remained a timeless classic Birmingham landmark - and well worth popping in this Christmas for some festive cheer.
