Birmingham’s bin strike has entered its fourth week with rubbish piling up across the city.
Birmingham’s waste collection crisis is deepening, with streets lined with overflowing bins and growing piles of rubbish, sparking concerns over public health and pest infestations.
Now, a controversial plan to switch to fortnightly bin collections is facing strong opposition, as the city grapples with an ongoing refuse workers' strike.
Residents have left part of Birmingham looking like a "Mumbai rubbish mountain" after swarming a mobile bin collection in the city this morning (Thurs).

Shocking photos show a huge 50ft (15m) mound of waste piled up on a community centre car park after locals began dumping their rubbish from 4am today.
The mobile refuse collection service had been visiting the Tyseley area in an attempt to clear the backlog caused by the ongoing strikes.
But many impatient locals discarded hundreds of bin bags at the scene before waiting for the lorry to arrive leaving behind a scene of "utter carnage".
The stinking mountain of rubbish reached 6ft (1.8m) high in places and extra bin lorries had to be called out to try and deal with the mess.
Tyseley resident Danny Carter, 33, said: "It just makes you ashamed to be a Brummie right now to be honest.”
From next month, the council intends to introduce a phased transition to less frequent rubbish collections, alongside weekly food waste pick-ups and new bins for paper and cardboard.
Rubbish piled up on Shakespeare Street, Sparkhill in Birmingham ahead of negotiations between Unite and the Birmingham City council are set to resume on this Thursday regarding bin strike.
