McDonald’s announced on 27 July that they will be increasing the prices of a variety of items on their menu. It’s just the latest in numerous price rises people in the UK are having to contend with amid the cost of living crisis.

For the last 14 years, McDonald’s famous cheeseburger has been available to hungry Brummies for under £1, but that’s all about to change. At a new price of £1.19, it really isn’t as much of a bargain as it once was.

And with National Burger Day upon us (August 26) it’s made us think - should we just spend a little extra and get a better quality burger? We took a look on Tripadvisor to find some of the best options out there in Birmingham.

2. The Meat Shack, Thorp Street
