Just an hour’s drive from Birmingham, in the village of Priors Marston, Warwickshire stands a real hidden gem. A tiny castle with turrets, a flag and fairy lights that can be yours for less than £200 per night.
Hosts Julie and Toby started their B&B business in 2022 after a rigorous makeover and even an appearance on BBC’s My Unique B&B. Now, the tiny castle (or Castle Folly to give it its proper name) is the perfect escape for any couple looking to add a touch of luxury to their lives.

Hide AdI spent the weekend there with my boyfriend to celebrate his 25th birthday in June - and between the personalised touches such as freshly baked bread, Prosecco, and a lovely handwritten card, and the fact we were staying in an actual miniature castle - he felt quite the birthday king!
For me, the star of the show at Castle Folly was the hot tub with fizzing jets and colour-changing lights. It was the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. Gazing up at the stars and twinkling lights wrapped around the castle turrets was nothing short of blissful.
Julie and Toby couldn’t do enough to accommodate us and the castle itself was truthfully spectacular. To paraphrase Shakespeare (Stratford is just down the road too by the way) ‘though she [the castle] may be little, she is fierce!’
Throughout the little castle a series of tiny knights are hidden in unsuspecting places (you and your love will have a great time spotting and counting them during your stay).

Hide AdThe shower is a touch small and at 6ft1 it was a challenge to fit underneath but the array of heavenly scented products and fluffy towels more than made up for this.
The bedroom was opulent and romantic, consisting of a large and comfortable bed, wooden panels, and a stunning (gold leaf decorated) skylight directly above the bed, so you can fall asleep looking at the stars. Staying there was one of those experiences where you think to yourself ‘Is this real?’
It had all the features of a castle without feeling chintzy or cheesy - the greens and gold embellishments helped it to feel rich and warm with subtle tones of splendour. Of course, if you want to ramp up the royalty with some Henry VIII role-play, that’s your prerogative.
The quirky castle is self-catering, which adds to its charm. We sat outside under the canopy and enjoyed charcuterie and bubbly! Another popular option is to pop into the local pub for a tasty Chinese takeaway (we did this on the first night).

I loved our stay at Castle Folly and I’m already thinking up an excuse to return. If you’re looking for a special Airbnb that is comfortable, quirky, and deliciously romantic, there really is nowhere better. I guarantee you will leave feeling like royalty! Book your stay on Airbnb here.
