Work has now started to build a new multi-million-pound care home in Erdington, Birmingham.

When complete, the new Care UK home, on Orphanage Road in Erdington, will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 77 older people, and will eventually create 95 new jobs.

The home, which is expected to welcome the first residents in April 2026 and is developed by Liberty Care Developments and constructed by Lawrence Baker Limited, will include a cinema, café and hair salon.

Justin Daley, Development Project Manager said, “At Care UK, we take great pride in the build quality, layout and design of each individual home, as these factors can significantly impact the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment. The thoughtfully designed new care home will live up to these standards and will provide a quality home for older people from Erdington and beyond.”

“Construction is off to a brilliant start, and we are on track to complete the scheme by April 2026. As an operator of best-in-class care homes, we’re thrilled to be working with Liberty Care Developments and Lawrence Baker Limited on the brand-new Erdington care home for people in the region. We’re already looking forward to reaching our next construction milestone in the coming months.”

Designed to allow residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new Care UK home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
