Platform Home Ownership has announced the conclusion of a successful Shared Ownership development in the West Midlands, in collaboration with five-star housebuilder Keepmoat Homes.

Just off Stallings Lane, the development near Dudley comprises a blend of stunning two-, three- and four-bedroom Shared Ownership homes, in a great location for young professionals, first-time buyers and a multitude of homeseekers.

Shared Ownership allows homebuyers to purchase a share of their home and pay rent on the remaining amount, typically buying between 10% and 75% of the property’s full market value, depending on the model purchased with.

This lowers the amount needed for a deposit, with most deposits on Shared Ownership schemes between 5% and 10% of the share and not the full amount.

Through the process of staircasing, those using Shared Ownership can gradually increase the amount of their home that they own.

Platform has seen an increase in popularity in the Shared Ownership scheme. In fact, the start of 2024 has seen a 152% sale increase when comparing to last year, owing to the increase in popularity of the scheme in a time of economic uncertainty.

Emma Urie, Interim Head of Sales at Keepmoat, said: “It has been fantastic to work with Platform Housing to deliver much-needed shared ownership housing in Kingswinford, which will help many first-time buyers and young professionals get on the property ladder.

“By working with partners such as Platform Housing, who align with our vision to create sustainable communities and transform lives, Keepmoat is building on its commitment to delivering high-quality new homes whilst prioritising multi-tenure housing stock for local people.”

Ryan Harris, Area Sales Manager at Platform said: “It’s fantastic to have completed this development at Stallings Place, and to see so many happy faces on those who have moved into their new homes, many of which are moving into their first home.

“We’d like to place on record our thanks to Keepmoat Homes as we draw this development to a close and look forward to working together in the future if the opportunity arises.”

Stallings Place is located on Oak Lane, off the main road servicing Kingswinford and the thoroughfare that connects the town to nearby Dudley.

The new homes are a short distance from the centre of Kingswinford, which hosts an abundance of eateries, industries and amenities operating in the area.

Nearby is the popular, comprehensive Merry Hill shopping centre, home to a multitude of independent and chain stores, with over 10,000 parking spaces, while the nearby road and rail networks mean access to Wolverhampton, Walsall, Birmingham and Worcester is straightforward.

This combined with the Pensnett Trading Estate within walking distance of the development and the Russells Hall Hospital also nearby means there are plenty of employment opportunities for those looking for a Kingswinford home.
