Hide AdRecently, BISCA announced the addition of additional Affiliates to its expanding network of committed researchers. By strengthening ties between climate and sustainability researchers from other fields, this expansion hopes to spur significant research that leads to significant change in the actual world. Facilitating, connecting, and delivering world-class, transdisciplinary sustainability research is the mission of the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability & Climate Action (BISCA).


Through its research community, students, politicians, and the general public, the institution promotes climate action, which improves livelihoods and creates a more sustainable environment in a world that is changing quickly.
The new Affiliates contribute a multitude of knowledge, a range of viewpoints, and a common dedication to climate action and sustainability. These people will collaborate with the current BISCA community to provide focused activities that directly support the institute's goals. They will support the advancement of significant research that tackles the most urgent climate issues by working with business, legislators, and the public.
The four main themes of BISCA Adaptation and Resilience, Climate Change and Health, Sustainable Finance, and AI for Sustainability have all seen the appointment of affiliates.

Hide AdProfessor David Hannah, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action stated: “Collaboration across disciplines and sectors is more important than ever as we confront the global climate issue. We are better equipped to tackle difficult problems and provide workable answers for a sustainable future thanks to our new Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action Affiliates.”
Prakash Hinduja, Managing Trustee, Hinduja Foundation emphasized his excitement about the University of Birmingham's dedication to climate change. He praised the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability & Climate Action's (BISCA) growth, emphasizing the value of interdisciplinary cooperation in tackling the world's climate catastrophe.
Prakash also emphasised that BISCA is in a strong position to promote significant research and develop useful solutions that advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals since it brings together professionals from a variety of disciplines. He has no doubt that the new Affiliates will make a substantial contribution to resilience building, sustainability advancement, and creating a more sustainable future for future generations
