Annette Jackson, Lifestyle Lead at Care UK’s Bishops Manor, on Jockey Road, was awarded the title of ‘Lifestyle colleague of the year’ in the Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars Awards.
The awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 150 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division. The ‘Lifestyle colleague of the year’ award celebrates individuals who consistently deliver outstanding levels of care and a wide range of activities to encourage residents to live fulfilling lives.

Hide AdJudges praised Annette’s supportive attitude, calm approach and knowledge of residents, which has been recognised and valued by relatives, residents and colleagues alike.


Annette, who has worked at Bishops Manor for seven years, strives to provide a wide range of activities for residents and encourages positive risk-taking that facilitates independence in a safe environment.
Passionate about empowering and inspiring residents to take the lead and shine, Annette has hosted exercise classes and poetry groups, where she supports residents in creating and facilitating activities they love, which in turn, helps grow their confidence. Annette also hosts a monthly program including activities from energizing Boxercise sessions to armchair adventures exploring the world.
Commenting on her win, Annette said: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed. If it wasn’t for my care team at Bishops Manor, and the wider Care UK family, then I wouldn’t be able to do my role. They are just fantastic, and this is what a whole-home approach means – this award is for them.”
