This upcoming Dementia Action Week (May 13 to 19), a local care company is uniting forces with local support organisations to host a Dementia Information Market Place Event, aimed at raising awareness and providing support and resources for those affected by Dementia.

Unique Senior Care Solihull, currently rated ‘Outstanding’ the Care Quality Commission, is extending an open invitation to the community to attend the Dementia Information Market Place Event, on Tuesday, May 14 from 10am to 12noon at Knowle Village Hall, St. John’s Close, Knowle, Solihull.

The community event aims to unite professional and community organisations to share support and offer guidance for those affected by dementia. Whether individuals are dealing with a diagnosis, concerned about memory, or supporting loved ones, they will have the opportunity to enjoy a coffee and a cake while exploring local resources and finding valuable support through the event's comprehensive signposting.

Philip Wright-Howarth, Director at Unique Senior Care, said: “We believe that offering support and intervention at an early stage is essential in helping individuals to live well with dementia. The event's goal is to create a welcoming space to encourage learning and understanding, thus reducing the stigma associated with dementia.”

With one in three individuals born in the UK today expected to develop dementia, and with an estimated one million projected to be living with it by 2025, Unique Senior Care emphasises the importance of openly addressing this issue. The event, part of a series of initiatives, including a new Knowle and Dorridge Memory Café, seeks to promote education and prevention techniques, empowering the community with knowledge and support.
