Previous honourees include Annie Lennox, Beverley Knight, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Alison Hammond, Sir Trevor MacDonald, and Lenny Henry. Loose Women star and comedian Judi Love and soul legend Omar hosted last year, and this year will also welcome a wonderful presenting team.

Inspiring UK entrepreneurs such as Levi Roots and Tape UK founder Imran Savas have also been recognised for their outstanding contributions.

Imran said last year’s win as Entrepreneur of the Year was a pinnacle moment in his journey from Chester-born entrepreneur to national business icon after his powerful acceptance speech earned a standing ovation...

As nominations flood in ahead of this year’s ceremony, founder Zoe Bennett, BEM, said that it was also important to remember that the vital purpose of the MBCC always remains to recognise and celebrate those people in our lives who have extraordinary strength and achievements in making the world a better place.

She said: “This year’s nominations have been as strong as ever, with some amazing people, often very modest and humble, put forward. We are also championing and celebrating diversity in a showcase of recognition and gratitude.”

The awards were created in memory of Zoe’s father, Errol, who was brutally murdered.

Amid unfathomable grief, Zoe found unstinting support from her local community, including senior police officers and Gavin Williamson MP, as she fought for justice.

These profound acts of kindness and solidarity ignited Zoe’s vision for the MBCC Awards.

She realised these awards should be for the people by the people, and her unwavering mission was a vision to empower others to honour remarkable people in their life.

Zoe also paid tribute to sponsors for their support. This year, they include Amazon, Deloitte, Serco, BCU, Janine Edwards Private Clients and more.
