Midlands care chef wins top spot at Great British Care Awards

Anas Al Saadi, Head Chef for Macc Care - based in Birmingham, was given the title at the East Midlands Regional Great British Care Awards, held yesterday (Thursday, 28th November).
The judging panel commended Anas, who works at a Studley home, for his immense passion for care, noting how his love for his parents has shaped the way he cares for others, treating them as if they were his own family.

Hide AdThe panel highlighted his strong background in food, gained from his experience in the hotel industry, which he uses to bring creativity, quality, and attention to detail to the meals he prepares for residents. They were particularly impressed by his humble approach and the way he shows great care for his work and the residents he serves.
Furthermore, the panel appreciated that Anas does not remain in the kitchen but actively makes an effort to connect with residents, involving them in activities and fostering a strong sense of community.
In response to winning the award, Anas said: “I am incredibly proud to have received this award. It means so much to me to be able to make a difference in the lives of the residents I care for. Cooking for them is not just about preparing meals, but about creating an environment where they feel valued and at home.
