The charity, which covers formerly known Birmingham St Mary’s in Selly Oak and John Taylor Hospice in Erdington, plans to use the donation to care for its patients in all capacities, whether it be at home, in the hospices or in the living well centres.
Birmingham Hospice ensures that 89p in every £1 donated is spent on clinical support and services to help it achieve its mission.

Hide AdEsme Lloyd-Kelly, Corporate Fundraiser at Birmingham Hospice, said: “Now more than ever, our expert and compassionate care is needed to ensure people die in a place of their choice, with dignity and in comfort.
“Costs are rising exponentially, making it harder for us to care for everyone who needs it. This is why donations mean so much to us at the hospice.
“We genuinely care for our patients and their families and we want to keep supporting them for years to come.”
Birmingham Hospice, located close to Barratt Homes’ development The Elms, looks after around 800 patients each day across its services, which includes its inpatient units, living well centres and in its patients’ homes.

Hide AdEsme added: “Donations ensure we can continue the amazing work that we do and we can be there for our patients and their families for as long as they need us. We take care of our community when they need us most.”
Barratt Homes’ donation came from its Community Fund scheme via The Barratt Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “Birmingham Hospice is such an asset for the city, and provides excellent care for its patients and their families when they need its services most.
“We’re pleased to support these services through our Community Fund scheme, and hope the charity can continue its support for those in need for many years to come.”
