Comedian Daliso Chaponda Reflects on 20-year comedy journey in new show

Daliso Chaponda, who began his comedy career with 'Feed This Black Man' twenty years ago in Canada, is back with a brand-new production that's equal parts funny and introspective.

In his early days, Chaponda fearlessly tackled stereotypes about Africans, poking fun at the way charities portrayed them as constantly starving. Now, with decades of experience under his belt and a slew of achievements including a spot on the Royal Variety Show and a finalist position on Britain's Got Talent, Chaponda's humor has only gotten sharper.

In his latest show, Chaponda revisits some of the themes from his debut, but with a mature twist. He muses on the wisdom that comes with age, wondering aloud if his younger self would recognise the man he's become. From reminiscing about first loves to questioning his past idealism about changing the world, Chaponda takes audiences on a hilarious and thought-provoking journey.

While Chaponda celebrates his success as a comedian, he's not afraid to acknowledge the bumps along the road, like his unconventional relationships and his longing for a traditional family life. But through it all, he remains dedicated to his craft, finding solace and joy in making people laugh.

Daliso will be at the Mac Theatre on Saturday, October 5.
