A bright future ahead: Ninestiles students explore Oxford University during National Careers Week

A group of 30 Year 10 learners from Ninestiles, an Academy, part of the Summit Learning Trust, had the incredible opportunity to visit Keble College at the University of Oxford this month as part of National Careers Week 2025.
The visit began at the College’s iconic porter’s lodge, leading the students into one of Keble College’s stunning quads. Learners were treated to an engaging presentation about the College system at Oxford. The informative session also gave an overview of further and higher education, giving the group valuable insights into the academic journey ahead.

Hide AdDuring the visit, learners met with student ambassadors, including one from Solihull Sixth Form, a school within their trust family. They took part in a Q&A session, gaining first hand insights into life as an Oxford student.

The tour included visits to student accommodation, the library, and the common room, allowing them to experience what life at the prestigious university would be like. They also enjoyed a meal in the College’s grand dining hall before spending the afternoon at the Oxford Natural History Museum, where they explored the fascinating exhibits on display.
The visit left a lasting impression on all the learners, with many expressing excitement about their future prospects.
“The trip was amazing and very informative. It gave me a useful insight into the university and what it would be like to study there,” said Oliver, one of the learners who attended the visit. “It was engaging, fun, and really opened my eyes to what’s possible in the future,” he added.
