The store in Sutton Coldfield will pull the shutters down before the end of the year.

Eight others across the UK will also close. Some are already displaying closing down sales.

Sainsbury's plans to have the first of its new supermarkets open next summer, and hopes all sites would be converted by the end of 2025.

Despite selling off some stores, Homebase still has around 150 across the UK which will remain open.
