The retail giant has announced that its largest store in the world, located in Birmingham, will be among 54 stores across the UK to introduce a new Click & Collect service aimed at reducing queues and enhancing convenience for shoppers.

Primark’s Birmingham store, which opened its doors in 2019 and spans an impressive 160,000 square feet, is no stranger to large crowds, especially during the holiday season.

This year, however, shoppers can look forward to a more streamlined experience.

How will this new service enhance Primark’s shopping experience?

The Click & Collect service will allow customers to browse and purchase items online, then pick them up in-store at their convenience, set to effectively minimise the time spent waiting in line.

The introduction of Click & Collect is part of Primark’s broader strategy to improve customer satisfaction and adapt to changing shopping habits. With the rise of e-commerce, the new service offers a hybrid solution that combines the ease of online shopping with the immediacy of in-store pickup.

There is no fee to use Click & Collect, but customers must spend a minimum of £10.

The service is said to be particularly beneficial during the busy Christmas period, when time is of the essence for many shoppers.

Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, said: “It’s been fifty years since we first opened our doors in Derby to bring affordable fashion to the British high street and expanding Click & Collect is another way we are giving people more reasons to visit their local high street and Primark.

"We know our customers love its convenience and the opportunity to access our wider ranges typically only found in larger stores. We’re thrilled to reveal the new stores to offer the service and extend access to our ranges even further before the busy Christmas shopping period begins.”

What lies ahead for this new service?

This service also coincides with Primark’s 50th anniversary on the British high street, marking a significant milestone for the retailer. By expanding its Click & Collect service to more locations.

Alongside the reveal of the next wave of stores, the range available on the service has been expanded to now include menswear and homeware alongside women’s and kidswear, with the new ranges available now to those 57 stores already offering the Click & Collect service.

The Click & Collect service is expected to be a hit among shoppers in Birmingham and beyond. With the promise of shorter queues and a more efficient shopping experience, shaping up to be a merry one for Primark customers.
