The residential units will consist of two one-bedroom and four two-bedroom flats, with two parking spaces provided.
A statement included with the application said: “The design of the retail units and apartments have been carefully considered to ensure that they are both functional and visually appealing.

“The retail units have been designed to attract new businesses that complement the surrounding area, while the apartments would offer attractive, nationally space standard-compliant living spaces for residents.

“As with much of the financial sector, many high street banks with the increasing use of technology, no longer feel they require a presence on the high street.
"The strategic location of the building, coupled with its architectural integrity, makes it an ideal candidate for adaptive reuse, preserving its history.
“Additionally, the introduction of apartments to the rear of the site would address the growing demand for residential spaces in sustainable locations, providing convenient access to amenities, employment opportunities and public transportation hubs.

The Halifax branch has been a part of Bearwood since 1997.
It is located a short distance from the former Ex-Catalogue Direct shop in Bearwood, which is slated to become a new shisha lounge, cocktail bar, and restaurant.
Deniz Akgul’s plans include a new shisha bar and restaurant on the ground and first floors, a cocktail bar on the second floor, and a new roof terrace along Anderson Road, previously the location of the wallpaper and paint discount store, Home Zone.
