The 2023 summer transfer window in the EFL Championship was a historic one with a total of over £214 million spent across the 24 teams.

From Leeds United buying Joël Piroe from Swansea City for £12 million to Shea Charles switching Manchester City for Southampton in a £10.5 million package, there have been some mighty transfers.

The other most expensive deals include Harry Winks to Leicester City (£10 million), Ross Stewart to Southampton (£9 million), Haji Wright to Coventry City (£7.7 million) and Tom Cannon to Leicester City (£7.5 million).

Some teams have had to spend a tad wiser, with Birmingham City being a terrific example. Blues only had to lay out around £7 million for 13 new signings and sold Jobe Bellingham and Tahith Chong to fund it all.
