New data unveils which Birmingham wards have the highest number of residents working in higher, senior and managerial roles

New census figures unveil which wards in Birmingham have the highest proportion of residents working in the highest senior and management roles.

Census data previously showed that one in six households in Birmingham are classed as among the most privileged in society. The data calculates an overall grade based on household income, economic activity, qualifications, the type and tenure of the household, and many other socio-economic factors.

New data from the Office for National Statistics, also looks at the number of residents aged 16 or over in each Birmingham ward and the level of job they work in.

For example, the data looks at the numbers of people working in the highest category - higher managerial, administrative and professional occupations, as well as those working in lower categories, such as semi-routine occupations and long-term unemployed.

We’ve analysed the data to identify which Birmingham wards have the highest proportion of people in the wards population working in higher managerial, administrative and professional occupations.
