One of the biggest events on the Birmingham calendar takes place this weekend with Birmingham Pride 2022.

The two day event will see thousands of people descend on the city to take part and experience all the event has to offer.

Birmingham Pride first took place in 1997, meaning that this year is the 25th anniversary of the first event.

The event supports LGBT charities around the city and is the culmination of a year of events and activities.

Ahead of the Birmingham Pride 2022, here’s all you need to know about where the parade will take place and who will be performing this year.

When is Birmingham Pride 2022?

This year’s Birmingham Pride takes place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 25 September 2022. With plenty of activities planned for the weekend, there’s something for all ages and interests.

What is the route for the Pride Parade?

The parade at Birmingham Pride 2022 is expected to be watched by around 75,000 people, with these numbers lining the route which threads through the city.

The parade starts in Centenary Square at 11am on Saturday, 24 September and finishes up onto Thorpe Street.

The full route is listed below:

Centenary Square (Broad Street) > Paradise Circus Tramway > New Street > left turn onto High Street > right turn onto Carrs Lane > right turn onto Moor Street Queensway / St.Martins Queensway > Smallbrook Queensway > left turn onto Hurst Street > vehicle entries turn right onto Thorpe Street

The parade is free for all to watch and will kick off what looks to be a great weekend.

Who is performing at Birmingham Pride 2022?

Amongst the performers at Birmingham Pride 2022 is singer Becky Hill. Becky performed at the final of the Women’s Euros 2022 and will no doubt put on another memorable performance in Birmingham.

Other big names to be performing at Birmingham Pride 2022 are iconic group Steps and Spice Girl Mel C.

Day tickets can be purchased from £55 whilst VIP tickets are on sale for £100.

Weekend tickets are on sale from £67.50 and all tickets can be purchased through the Birmingham Pride website.
