Solihull Moors suffered more play-off final heartbreak on Sunday (May 5) after losing on penalties to Bromley.
The Vanarama National League final finished 2-2 with Moors losing 4-3 on penalties. It’s the second time in two years that Solihull have missed out on promotion to the football league, after they lost 2-1 to Grimsby in the same fixture in 2022 at West Ham’s London Stadium.
Moors finished 5th in the National League this season, with Bromley finishing in 3rd place. Andy Whing’s side came from behind twice to level the scores during the Wembley final, before Moors lost the shootout.
It was another bitterly disappointing result in London for the Moors fans. But despite a heartbreaking ending, it’s been a good season for Whing’ side, and plenty of Moors’ fans travelled to Wembley to cheer their side on in the capital.
