Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion's predicted finish ahead of final day of the Championship season

Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion will head into the final day of the Championship season with work to do after underwhelming results on Saturday.

The Blues had hoped to take a major step towards safety and securing their second tier status when the visited relegation rivals Huddersfield Town. All seemed to be going to plan when Koji Miyoshi opened the scoring just before half-time - but a second-half equaliser from Rhys Healey ensured Gary Rowett’s men head into their final day home game with Norwich City relying on results going their way elsewhere.

West Brom are focused on matters at the other end of the table - although their play-off hopes took a slight knock with a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. The Baggies remain in a top six spot but they must claim a home win against Preston North End next weekend to keep alive their hopes of making a return to the Premier League.
