“He lost against us 6-0 in my first year.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has slammed former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor for his comments surrounding Manchester United following their 4-0 loss to Brentford last weekend.

Agbonlahor, who is now a regular pundit on talkSPORT, was highly critical of the Red Devils claiming that Erik ten Hag should just ‘pack up’ and go home and that United were a bunch of ‘amateurs’ during the defeat.

Speaking ahead of the first derby between Liverpool and Man United this year, Klopp defended ten Hag’s side, and was quick to call out the former Villa favourite as being hypocritical with his comments.

“We forget in these moments how good Brentford is,” Klopp explained.

“I watched the first half here and then drove home and conicdentally listened to talkSPORT and Gabby [Agbonlahor] - he lost against us 6-0 in my first year. I couldn’t remember him as a mentality monster on the pitch.

“What he said about United in that show I was cloe to calling in and telling him, you’ve forgot completley that you’ve been a player, it’s unbelievable.

“And if ex-players going on like this then you can imagine how everything else is going. You just have to ask yourself how would you want to react in a situation like this.”
