Premier League table based on average attendances - Where Aston Villa, Liverpool, Leeds United & Wolves sit

There’s a huge buzz surrounding Villa Park at this moment in time and it shows.

It’s a great time to be a fan of Aston Villa.

The club are making signings that supporters could have only dreamed of a few years ago and it’s bringing with it a genuine buzz that you can feel around the place.

Villa Park was sold out for every game of the last campaign with demand for tickets never being higher - and that’s only going to increase.

There’s close to 30,000 fans on the waiting list for a season ticket - an extraordinary number when you consider the last few seasons have been far from successful.

But with things now looking up on the field, support is growing.

Plans are in place for an expansion of Villa Park - something that will of course help bring that figure down - and the hope is that work could be completed by the summer of 2024.

That expansion will take the capacity beyond 50,000, around 10,000 more than the current max attendance.

The future is looking exciting but whilst we still can, let’s take a look back.

Here, BirminghamWorld takes a look at Aston Villa’s average attendance last season - and how that compared to their Premier League rivals:
