Six men have been arrested for the murder of Bailey Atkinson, who died of multiple stab wounds

Police have arrested six men for the murder of Bailey Atkinson who was stabbed to death in Walsall town centre.

West Midlands Police detained two men - aged 19 and 20 - after stopping a vehicle in Leamore last night (6 February). They were arrested on suspicion of Bailey’s murder and remain in police custody for questioning. The force also detained four men - aged 18, 20, 21 and 25 - from an address in Worcester during the early hours of this morning.

They were also arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken into custody for questioning. Bailey was attacked on the High Street during the early hours of 28 January. He was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries.

A post-mortem revealed the 20-year-old, from Bloxwich, had died of multiple stab wounds. Police have already charged three boys - two aged 16 and another aged 15 - in connection with his murder.

Family tribute

The family of the 20-year-old paid this tribute to their son. The tribute, read: “We respectfully ask for privacy at the moment while we grieve the loss of our beloved boy Bailey. Our kind hearted and much loved son, brother and grandson.

“Bailey was so loved, by so many and will be missed so much.

“We request if anyone has any information, they please come forward to help the police with their enquiries to help catch the individuals who done this and taken away our boy.”
