There are dozens of animals in the West Midlands looking for their forever homes. Many of them live at RSPCA animal centres that are spread across the region.
This New Year, you can give a home to a dog living at the Birmingham Animal Centre or in another location in the West Midlands. These lovely canines are looking for a family they can call their own in a comfortable and loving home.
There are some dogs that have been heartbroken after being abandoned by their owners since Christmas. In Birmingham, one dog was found tied to a flagpole outside a fire station while another was found near a canal path.
The world’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity - RSPCA - is also stretched thin while caring for animals that been abandoned in the past few months. There are many pet food banks available that can help with food costs for pets.
So, if you want add a new family member, here are eight dogs waiting to go home:
1. Mischief
Dashingly handsome Mischief went to RSPCA after being abandoned in his home when his owner went to prison. He is a 2-year-old crossbreed. He could live with another suitable dog in the right home, providing good meets here at the centre. He could live in a family home where kids, if present, are of mid-teen age and older. 2. Phoebe
She is a 3-year-old Bull Terrier crossbreed. Her coat is black and white in colour. She was found tied up on a canal towpath. Phoebe could live with a suitable dog after successful meets at the centre. If there are children, they should mid teens and older. (Photo - RSPCA)
3. Shyla
Shyla is a 3-year-old Bull Terrier crossbreed and the animal centre is looking for an experienced adult home with the right practical set up to give this big powerful girl her new start in life. Adopters will want to visit Shyla here at the centre a few times to begin building a strong bond with her prior to transitioning her into her new home. (Photo - RSPCA Birmingham)
4. Kita
Kita is looking for a forever home. She’s a cream-colour Shar-Pei, who is six years old. She is looking for an adult only home where owners have experience of her breed and the little quirks that come along with being a sharpei.
